Fall in Upstate
Fall is busy here in Upstate. With school starting, there are hectic, complicated schedules to figure out (anyone else’s kid a bit over scheduled, in spite of best intentions?), honey needs spinning, and lots and lots of Avital’s soaps and lotions need to be made!
This week, I did a really fun demo at GreenStar Co-op in Ithaca. I love answering questions, letting people try things, and telling the story of how I started this business. This time I switched it up a bit, and had free samples of two of my favorite things: the Egyptian Rose Sugar Scrub and the new bulk lotion at GreenStar.
Let’s talk lotion: I make a great, no-frills lotion for the bulk section at GreenStar. What’s the bulk section? It’s like the bulk bins at any grocery store, except instead of putting rice or oats in a bag, you bring your favorite dispenser, and fill it with liquid soap or lotion.
You can buy just as much as you need, in whatever dispenser you prefer–at a really nice price! And the lotion is lovely, with organic aloe juice, rice bran oil, shea butter, and avocado oil. It’s unscented, gentle enough to use on kids, but thanks to quality ingredients, effective at moisturizing and softening during the upcoming harsh winter months.
During the demo, I gave away–yes, gave away!–2 oz bottles of the lotion. A couple dozen happy GreenStar customers can use up the samples, and then refill those bottles with more lotion from the bulk section.
I also had some little tins of Egyptian Rose Sugar Scrub on hand. The scent is fabulous–Egyptian rose geranium with a bit of citrus and vanilla. Cocoa butter, shea butter, and coconut oil all work to soften and moisturize your skin, while sugar and gentle rose clay
exfoliate any dry bits.
