Ithaca Winter Balm Is Getting A Makeover
Just a little one. I’m finding that the name is confusing for people. Can I use Winter Balm in June? Sure you can! When I named it, I had in mind the cold, dry winters we so often have, when all the moisture is sucked out of your skin. I wanted something that would soothe and moisturize skin in the depths of winter.
But that doesn’t mean you can’t use it year ’round!
So I’m renaming it. Ithaca Body Butter. How does that sound? It’s still full of shea and coconut butters, beeswax, avocado oil, and evening primrose extract, all chosen to give an extra boost to your skin when it’s fighting off those winds.
And one more change: I make it as a whipped butter, to keep it soft and light. I’ve decided to whip it just a bit less, to make it easier and faster to put into those tins. With the busy holidays coming up, I need all the time savers I can get!
What you may notice is that the tin doesn’t look as full as it used to, but instead has a swirl on top from the filling method I’m using. Kind of cute! But I promise that every tin still has at least 2.5 ounces in it (and usually a bit more). As it says on the cereal box, “filled by weight, not by volume. Some settling may occur during shipping.” Yael’s Ginger-Lemon is the first one to be done like that. So–look for it soon!
